Launch of our new parent portal – My Child At School (MCAS)

MCAS is an online portal that enables parents to view their child’s performance at school in real time via any modern web browser (e.g. Edge, Firefox, Chrome, Safari etc.) and for today’s busy parents, an app (for android or iOS) which offers the same features. Through the app, you will have anytime access to Attendance, Reports/Assessments. letters and important documents. Student timetables alongside the school calendar and fully customisable Exam Timetables and results pages mean schools can keep parents fully informed electronically. Due to the unprecedented year we have had in view of Covid 19, we intend to roll out further features which will also include behaviour, homework, booking appointments for parent’s evenings and allowing secure online payments as well as other useful items. We intend to complete access to all features for December 2021.

As the process is fully GDPR compliant, parents are invited to setup their secure account, and when downloading the App, can add additional security including biometric authentication and a PIN for ease of use. Equally, schools can use the MCAS Parental Consent feature to enable parents to give/revoke their consent as required and has a feature to allow parents to inform the school of changes to their key contact details. We will forward invitations containing usernames and pin numbers via email by/on 1st October 2021.

KD intends to minimise and eventually eradicate its use of paper and primarily use this feature to communicate with you. This will also include not sending out the annual data collection forms to update your son/wards medical information as it will be updated by yourself when you login for the first time – this will mean KD will have up-to-date information as soon as you enter or amend any personal information. It is therefore, very important that you download the My Child at School app ASAP to enable us to complete the process. We hope to have all parents/carers signed up by Friday 22 October 2021. Please note, on return to school after the half term, the school will no longer be using T2P as a means of communication. All such information will be conveyed through MCAS. If you do not download this, you risk missing important contact/correspondence with school.

Further information and how to use the app is available via the documents below.
