One of our most popular activities in the school calendar is our Annual Sports Day. With lockdown still in continuation, we will be bringing Sports Day to our students as a Virtual Sports Week. Coinciding with National School Sport Week 2020, students will be set a daily challenge to complete. They must submit evidence of their participation to Miss Anwar-Bawany, via Google Classrooms or email (firstname.lastname@example.org).
The challenge will be uploaded onto Google Classrooms, Facebook and Twitter at 11am. In addition to this, the challenge will be emailed to parents and updated in this post.
So get family and friends involved, remember social distancing rules, and lets get active!
Challenge 1 (Monday): How long does it take to walk, jog or run 5K? Record the time that it takes to complete the 5k. This can be done in the garden, at home, in the local park, or in the local area.
Challenge 2 (Tuesday): How long does it take to do 500 steps? Find a staircase at home, in the garden, at the park, or use the pavement. Take 500 steps and time yourself!
Challenge 3 (Wednesday): How long does it take to complete the following exercises:
10 x squats, burpees and star-jumps
9 x squats, burpees and star-jumps
8 x squats, burpees and star-jumps
7 x squats, burpees and star-jumps
6 x squats, burpees and star-jumps
5 x squats, burpees and star-jumps
4 x squats, burpees and star-jumps
3 x squats, burpees and star-jumps
2 x squats, burpees and star-jumps
1 x squat, burpee, and star-jump
Challenge 4 (Thursday): How many time can you jump over a cushion in 90 seconds?
Place a cushion (or a pillow) on the floor, and jump over it, side to side. Count the number of jumps in 90 seconds. A jump to each side is counted as one jump.
Challenge 5 (Friday): How many times can you throw and catch a pair of socks in a frying pan in two minutes?
