Manchester Islamic Trust
Our Vision
The Manchester Islamic Educational Trust (MIET) was founded upon a clear and far-reaching vision: to serve the Muslim community by establishing centres of educational excellence where young people could flourish academically, spiritually and personally within an environment rooted in Islamic values.
This vision first came to life with the opening of Manchester Islamic Grammar School for Girls in 1992, followed by Manchester Muslim Preparatory School in 1993. Building upon the success and growing reputation of these schools, KD Grammar School for Boys was established in 2001, completing a family of schools dedicated to nurturing generations of confident, principled and aspirational young British Muslims.
Today, MIET continues to uphold its founding mission through all three schools, combining academic excellence with the timeless principles of Islam and the shared British values of tolerance, democracy and respect for diversity. The Trust is committed to developing well-rounded pupils who are intellectually curious, morally grounded and socially responsible, instilling in them a strong sense of faith, identity and service. By fostering high standards, compassion and leadership, MIET prepares its pupils not only for academic success, but also to contribute positively and meaningfully to their communities and the wider world.
